Preserving the Past – Building for the Future

The Rhode Island Jewish Museum (RIJM) will be a celebration of Providence’s Jewish American immigrant story through art, history, and culture and will rejuvenate the Sons of Jacob Synagogue - the last synagogue still in use in Providence’s historic Smith Hill neighborhood. This beautiful building is a testament to Jewish heritage - without restoring it soon, the structure itself and stories of Rhode Island’s Jewish ancestors may be lost forever.

Help us reach our goal of $3 million to restore the Sons of Jacob Synagogue and prepare it to become the Rhode Island Jewish Museum.
